Chevron Helps Pilot Make Aviation History

On June 27, 2007 Barrington Irving became the youngest person (at 23) and the first person of African descent to fly solo around the world. Chevron Global Aviation assisted Barrington every step of his journey. Our sponsorship began in 2005, while he was an employee for Miami Executive Aviation, a Chevron-branded Fixed Base Operator (FBO). We have provided support, including fuel and funds for training, and sponsored celebrations for him during his stay in Dubai and when he landed in Houston.
"Barrington's focus on educating children, especially inner city and minority children about aviation, aligns well with our community outreach focus," noted Lanell Wallach, Manager, General Aviation Sales. "We are proud of what he has accomplished and are honored to be one of his title sponsors.”
Customers Rank North America #1

For the third consecutive year, Commercial Aviation’s North America Region took the top spot in the 2006 annual survey conducted by Armbrust Aviation Group. A record 84 major, national, regional, charter, and cargo carriers participated in the survey.
“It’s an honor for us to again receive the award. We are committed to operating with excellence in delivering products and services to our customers. In a very visible way, the award confirms that customers recognize our efforts to provide a consistent standard of service and to build long-term partnerships with them,” remarked Harold Ayers, General Manager, North America Commercial Region, on receiving the award.
New head named at Global Aviation
September 1, 2006 Chevron Global Aviation announced that John Digby is leaving his post as President of the company.
He has been appointed Managing Director of New Business Development for Chevron in India. Doug Hinzie, a 22-year Chevron veteran, has been named to replace Digby.
Hinzie was most recently the General Manager of Chevron’s Burnaby Refinery in British Columbia, Canada.
