Our Center of Operational Excellence (COE) is key to our ability to deliver superior aviation products and services to customers around the world in a safe, secure, environmentally sound, and efficient manner. The COE technical and operations experts keep safety and reliability a top priority in the areas of product quality and handling, storage, transportation, aviation fuelling equipment and systems, and into-plane delivery.
Setting Industry Standards. Finding Technical Solutions
The COE staff plays an active role in setting industry
standards and finding technical solutions through participation in industry and
government groups. These include the International Air Transport Association
(IATA), the Joint Inspection Group (JIG), the American Petroleum Institute
(API), the Energy Institute (EI), the American Society for Testing and Materials
(ASTM), the Coordinating Research Council (CRC), and the National Aeronautics
and Space Administration (NASA).
Through our participation in the International Air Transport Association Technical Fuel Group (TFG), the American Transportation Association (ATA) and the National Air Transportation Association (NATA), we help ensure appropriate industry action on all safety, environmental and technical aspects of aviation fuel.
Aviation Fuels Technical Review
One of the technical services we offer is the publication of
Aviation Fuels Technical Review(PDF, 2,161Kb). Written in non-technical terms and easy to understand,
the publication covers the performance, properties, specifications, composition,
and manufacture of aviation fuels (both aviation turbine fuel and aviation
gasoline). Also available on CD, the Review is an excellent primer on the
technical aspects of aviation fuel manufacturing.
