Product Information and Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS)

Chevron Global Aviation is a major worldwide supplier of aviation fuels to airlines, military and general aviation customers.

There are two main categories of aviation fuels: aviation turbine fuels (jet fuels) used for turbo-fan, turbo-jet and turbo-prop engines; aviation gasoline (avgas) used in reciprocating or piston engines:

Aviation Turbine Fuels (Jet A, Jet A-1, JP-8)

These kerosene-type fuels are most commonly used for commercial and military aircraft. Currently, Jet A grade is primarily used in the United States. The Jet A-1 grade is used predominantly in all other countries. Our jet fuel is made by refining crude petroleum and inspected to meet stringent industry standards and specifications. Military fuel, JP-8, or NATO F35, is manufactured according to military specifications.

Aviation Gasoline Fuels (100, 100LL)

Aviation gasoline is used mainly by small airplanes and light helicopters. There are two grades of avgas which are identified by their nominal lean-mixture anti-knock rating(s). It is carefully manufactured, blended and inspected to achieve optimum performance while meeting the wide range of strict temperature, altitude and power requirements for aircraft operation. Motor gasolines are not considered appropriate for aircraft fuel.
